2 quick questions |
1) will this game play ok with Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit version?
2) if I have a widescreen monitor, will the game fill the entire screen, and not be distorted, thus allowing me to see more of a system than a standard (non-wide) screen monitor?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi, JP,
I would say yes to both. However, just to make sure and also to prepare your system in event you need to update (or even backdate) your drivers, go ahead and download a copy of the demo and try it out. That way, you can be 100% certain.
Re: 2 quick questions
Honestly can't say, partly because just about everyone I know is saying they aren't moving to Vista. Seems to be issues of price and not really worth the cost. That's just the opinions of about a dozen or more people so I can't go any farther with that aspect of it except to say that it offers no real advantage to me personally.Re: 2 quick questions
According what i heard, Vista is not worth it even if it was FREE.
Re: 2 quick questions
I think it may offer some advantages to a few people, particulary those that that do a lot of heavy CAD or CAM work. But for the ordinary user, not so. That's probably why the're offering the stripped down versions - just for those people who have "upgradeitis" and always have to have the latest thing, even when they know almost nothing about it.
Re: 2 quick questions
that helps me tons.
Chill, dude, so far no one who KNOWS the answer has bothered to respond. I did the best I could - so now just wait, OK?
Re: 2 quick questions
Not wishing to get involved in the discussion about Windows Vista but as far as I am aware its not actually available to the general public yet (this week?) and has only been on limited release for a short while so its going to be unlikely most gamers will be using it yet if for no other reason than that.
If you have Windows Vista already I would try it and see if I where you. Then come back and tell us you would be doing the community here a favour.
Personaly I wont be geting it soon but thats more because the majority of the computers I have round here are no where near the spec it reportedly needs to run and I personaly dont have the money for a comercial users licence in any event.
Re: 2 quick questions
Since most are not getting Vista right off and you are building a pc with it, it's more than likely you'll know by trial and error before the rest of us will.
Just for Info
Just to let anyone know that might be interested. Besides commercial (business) users, it's been available to everyone in some countries for about a month. But for ALL the rest of the the world, it became available today (Mon. 1-29-07). And if you really want it bad enough, you can actually buy it online and download it directly from Microsoft on their website.

Re: Just for Info
Hmnn...
I had a friend who swears by her crapples, and her new system - months ago - supported the multiple screen interface that as i understand it is the main draw of Vista...
I certainly won't be rushing out to buy it for my underpowered system, but I personally am a little curious how it will play out with this particular demographic.
Troll? No, Sir, I am a BADGER!
Re: 2 quick questions
My friend showed me the underpowered version of Vista. The Multiple scren interface is worth getting, I can tell you that for a fact, but not at microsoft prices. Wait until a few patches come out and Vista is stable and compatable with the games you play first and has more draw then just it's interface.

Re: 2 quick questions
Probably works fine, having in mind M$ has retired all support to Windows Xp lately. They simply don´t patch well known security holes. Then they say "Vista is safer, buy it"
Service Pack 3 should have been avaliable YEARS ago, where is it?
And I find quite interesting to see that the latest windows updates are making my OS work worse. Yes, I must admit I love to see M$ sabotaging my windows XP to make me upgrade to Vista. In my country this is called Blackmail.

Re: 2 quick questions
Damn, another thread gone the way of Micro bashing. Lets see everyone here play SEV on a Mac... O wait I'm sorry you need an emulator. For now Windows for all its pros and cons is here to stay...

Re: 2 quick questions
Just to clarify, I'm not Pro Windows or Mac. I use both and think each has it good and bad points. However that is a discussion fo ranother forum not an SEV one.
They already stopped supporting XP?
Heck... And i am using Windows 2000...
I had XP installed for a few months, but i still prefer 2000. No crap installed, and it run faster and is more stable on my aging PC.

Re: op systems
in other forums that were gettinga little singy, it was pointed out that other OS/environments do exist... but that for the time being its really not cost effective for anyone to develop for these.
If anyone wants to, I doubt anyone will curse them, but most Users get terrified when they don't have a GUI holding their hand, so ...

Yes, please! We've all heard that song and dance so much that we're tired of it. So everyone either go back on topic or move on to something else.

Or a different forum, where I would be happy to debate this issue.

Re: 2 quick questions
I have no idea for your first question. As for the second, I recently hooked up my computer to the living room HDTV (1080i or 1360x768). When you start up SE:V, re-run the setup and select the resolution that best fits your monitor. It wasn't distorted when i changed from 1280x960 to 1360x768.
