Planet Ship

Sort of a nomadic, moving, artificial planet. I can create a ship size similar to a base ship (only bigger) and components for it that function like a normal planet, but the model is my current road bump. I need to know how to create a 3d model (if I can use a planet model, thats fine too) but i also need to know how to apply a sphereworld skin to it using animationbuddy or another program. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

And although noone reads this thread, an update.

I now need to write a text file for the slots on my planet ship. I have used the slot modder, but it does not have a "convert to text" function. Can someone save me the hours of typing slot coordinates and tell me an easier way? Thanks.

LOL! It didn't occur to me except in retrospect you WEREN'T.
i was wondering WTF you were talking about...

My component enhancement idea bit dust hard-fast so far.

The blue dagger-ish shipset, their basestaions LOOK like a largemoon that has had been converted into a base - check it out.
even if you decide not to mod that (easiest), at least you might see how it was done graphically?
Might be easier than trying from scratch?

I didn't really do it from scratch, I'm just making a planet ship using a large planet model with a sphere world skin. I know what I'm missing, I just need a way to read the planet1000.x file

Planet Ship Model Gone

And aparently noone likes posting on my threads...
Well, i loaded it in-game but the model isnt there. I've used the plant1000 and Eee_spacestation, none worked.
Im guessing what i need to fix is what tells it what model to use. Where is this source? How do i tell it to just use a planet with a new material on it? Why does noone like reading my threads? Pie?

You should be able to adjust size in the vehiculesize.txt.

Yeah, i kinda already knew that...i needed the variable.
But i got that too. Now i need to find the x,y,z position of a vertex. Can ANYONE help me on this??

Explosion Crash

I got the firing points, but another problem is when the ship self-destructs, SEV crashes (i need to test what else, it seemed fine when it is destroyed)

You will probably need to define the death animation for your new ship...

So....have you read my last posts??
I have the model, I need to make animations for it. Besides, I read all the tuts there and found nothing useful.
I'm using a model already completed, just with another skin over it.

I don't think this game does animations for .X files. What he meant was that you need to makes sure that there is something in the Explosion Effect field of the #race#_ship_XFileClasses.txt. Just copy an entry from another ship and adjust the other explosion fields too. If its rotation your after then that too can be found in #race#_ship_XFileClasses.txt. But other then that I have no freaking clue what your asking.
