Issues with Simultaneous moving

Submitted by Guyofdoom on Mon, 2007-01-22 13:16. Space Empires V Multiplayer

I've recently started a PBW game with some friends of mine, but I have issues with the delayed orders for ships. I've built a transport, but it doesn't seem to be very efficient in picking up or dropping off cargo. I've tried clicking the consolidate cargo button, but it doesn't seem to let me and I try to fill up my ship, but instead only pick up 1M people.

I'm hoping to lay mines around my system, but I'm worried that I'll have to place one at a time if I can't get this resolved. What am I missing?

I haven't done PBW yet so I

I haven't done PBW yet so I am not 100% sure, but could you add "Repeat Order" at the end of it? It means that picking up or dropping off to max would effectivly end all movement, but it takes less clicking...

Simultaneous turns and launching/recovering units

Submitted by Gusset on Mon, 2007-01-22 16:33.

I don't do this often with the cargo transfer function, and never with population, so perhaps those work a little differently or are bugged.

But as far as deploying and recovering units (fighters, sats, & mines), I routinely give a ship multiple orders involving deploying and recovering. Works fine for me. Give the ship the move order to where you want to launch/recover the unit(s), then select the Launch/Recover icon (lower right button set), tell it what sector you want to do it in, then select the units from the list. When you're done, make sure to view the ship's orders to make certain it recorded correctly.

e.g.

Move to System X (5,-5)
Launch satellite Sentry I
Launch Satellits Sentry I
Launch Satellite Sentry I
Recover Satellite Telstar I
Move to System Y (10,2)

Now with this example, I'd have to wait until the Telstar I was recovered and in the ship's bays before I could enter any launch orders for that one.

I have not seen it fail yet in 1.20 w/Balance Mod.

Thanks for the help. I just hope it's a bug with population and I'll try it on mines to see if it works.
