(1.20) Units launched into space have one movement point |
Fighters or drones launched into space from a planet or ship have only 1 movement point in the turn they are launched. Next turn they have 1 out of their proper maximum amount. The turn after that they have full movement restored.
This is not a supply issue as they have full supplies when launched.
It means that Drones are
It means that Drones are heavily hamstrung, since by the time you can get them launched & moving, a moving ship has exited the system you launched it from.
hamstrung?
Drones are quite powerful enough even with their limitations. Having used them extensively I am of the opinion that they are balanced as they stand
Limitations
cost and time to build
very limited amunition suply drone frigiate can cary a couple of small ones a destroyer up to four and they need suply ships in warship hulls to carry reloads
Advantages
Lethality one drone one ship

You do realise a drone
You do realise a drone launcher component counts as a cargo component don't you? ergo you can put them in freighters.
-----
an se5a is a ww1 fighter, it is also a car.
I do
I do that but I don’t find that freighters are all that survivable in combat and dislike having a ship in a combat fleet which cant fight , so I don’t like using them in battle fleets in bombardment fleets they are fine as all they have to do is stand off however the size of drones still limits the ammunition supply

Not a bug
This is not I think a bug but intentional I understand
