Installing Shipsets

Hi, I'm fairly new and I just loaded the 4 shipsets for SEV. When I start a game, I can't see them. I'm using the Balance Mod and I loaded the empires in the empire folder. What am I missing?

thanks upfront

Sorry for asking a stupid questions, but have you checked if the folder are correct?
If you have a folger structur like /[Empire name]/[Empire name]/[content] SEV will not show them.
Also be aware that the custom shipset won't show up in a quick start game.

You must edit a field in Settings file

Submitted by CP1985 on Sun, 2007-01-07 13:20.

In order for any new custom ship set to appear in Quick Start you must open Settings.txt up and manually add them. There are 2 things you must add in this file. Scroll down to "Number of Quick Start Empires" This field must be updated when you add new empires in. The other thing you must do is add "Quick Start Style #" then it should show up in Quick Start.

To use a new shipset in the

Submitted by Fyron on Sun, 2007-01-07 22:59.

To use a new shipset in the Balance Mod, you have to add it to the Balance Mod's empires folder. If you install the shipsets into the default empires folder, you can just add empty folders for each set in the mod folder (sev\game types\balance mod\empires), and it will pull the files from the default Empires folder.

Be aware that any of the sets with AI files will not work as an AI empire in the balance mod, since it requires modified AIs. You can copy AI scripts from another balance mod race into the new shipset folders (under the balance mod folder, not the default one) to make them work as AIs.
