One Simple Question |
I am thinking about getting this game and will probably download the demo, but I thought maybe I could get some feedback here before spending too much time.
1) I didn't really like Space Empires IV (something about it just didn't feel 'user friendly').
2) I liked Master of Orion I, II but not III so much (if at all).
3) I like Galactic Civilizations at first but quickly grew tired of it (something seemed to be lacking).
4) I only wish to play single player.
So what do you think? Will I like SEV? So far, it looks and sounds really good, but I've really moved away from PC games over the past year toward less demanding non-strategy console games. I am really feeling a need for a good space conquest turn based game, though.
no
i didnt like the IV but V is one of the most played game last year. It still need some fixes and updates + mods to play properly (BM is very good atm)

Didn't like SE Iv won't like SE V
The similarity between SE IV and SE V is much greater then the differences. There have been marginal changes to user interface but not so much so that I would say SE V has a significantly better interface. It suffers from the same problem SE IV did which is total information overload with very little good documentation/help. For example - I had to play hunt and peck to figure out to scrap a facility on a planet I needed to use the "Jettison Cargo" function. As opposed to what a normal person would do, which is to select the facility on my planet's facility list and click a DELETE or SCRAP button.... Other examples abound but from an interface perspective, VERY similar to SE IV and if that's why you didn't like SE IV, you won't like SE V.
