Bug with bases in combat simulator?

Submitted by vorius on Wed, 2006-12-20 21:18. Space Empires V General

I designed a planetary base and wanted to see how it would fare against a group of my opponent's ships. In the design it has 1,400 shield pts and 9 anti-proton guns which have max range up to 70. The opponent ship has railguns with max range 60. When I start the simulator I notice my base has shields 0 and no weapons. It does not fire or do anything, just sits there waiting to get blown up. What's up? Using 1.20.

Supplies?

You might need to manually load it up with supplies (base designs need supply storage, as well).

Once you have the technology, you can also put solar panels on them (just as in real life space stations).

remember

Remember that bases lack the storage capacity from the engines that all ships have and energy weapons don’t have the small intrinsic ammunition capacity that seekers and non energy weapons have

Solar panels.... to weak

Submitted by Exile1A on Thu, 2006-12-21 10:18.

Solar panals are good in the beginning later on try researching the resupply tech and get the quantum generators wich lots of supply's and are the same Kt. And yes you need to put some supply storages in the base or it won't work.. Sticking out tongue
