Colony Module For all three.

In SE4 I created a component that allowed for the colonization of all three planet types, (A "Colony Module"), after the colony tech for the three planet types and "Quantum reactor" were discovered. The theory went, if a quantum reactor provided endless supplies it would have to be something like a replicator so if the basic material (i.e. Population, basic living quarters, etc) were present on the ship the "replicator" could take care of the details for each planets needs. The glitch was in the planet screen, it would always list 3 ships available for colonization when there was in actuality only one. Apparently this was in the core of the game reading the ability of the ship to colonize 3 types as 3 ships available to colonize, it also seems to really confuse the ministers. Now that we all have SE5 I wanted to if there is a workaround for this.

In SE4 I would create a single ship with all 3 colonizer types, and the game would report one of these ships as 3 colony ships as well. I think you must be correct, in that the game counts the colonizers, not the ships that carry the colonizers.

I haven't tried this is SE5 yet.

For us mere humans, it's a lot of work keeping track of which colonizers have gone to which planets. One of those areas where the computer players have an advantage over us I suppose Smiling

You can create a custom layout for planets, and include Ships Enroute in that layout. Very useful for determining whether you sent a colonizer there or not.

I have little need for colony ships by the time I get to Quantum Reactors.

I'm becoming more and more convinced as time goes on that it may be a great idea to resurrect many of the old threads. The info therein would be a great help to those who weren't around when they were originally started. Smiling

However, I wouldn't want to be the one to do it. It would probably put me on a fast track to a banning. Smiling
