Emissive Armour?

Does Emissive Armour work as intended and if so, is the damage reduction meant to stack or not? Testing against fighters armed with small DUCs, they do full damage on me despite my Emissive Armour.

I have tested it on troops

I have tested it on troops and it seemed to work, however it does NOT stack.

I'll have to test in an all-tech game then

Possibly with the damage reduction intentionally set very high for a single component just to convince myself that it does work. There may be differences between Small vs regular too...

I think it was meant to stack...

But it doesn't. What's the point of having an armor that just block a few kts of damage when weapons do many times that amount? It's quite useless, better stick to normal armor.

Its good against annoying

Its good against annoying things like fighters that your ships can find diffcult to target, if it stacked it would make combat impossible when you could have 2 ships that could fire on each other till the cows come home and not hurt each other because of damage avoidance.

Depend how much a ship can soak relative to how much firepower it can have. I think it's realistic that larger ships can have very tick armor, impervious to small weapons. It's ballanced as long as weapons to breach thoses thick armor are availiable. This would give more reasons to use mounts... Don't forget also that as the ship takes damage, the damage reduction decrease (armor section get destroyed), so eventually lighter weapons can damage it...
