ScriptParser not compiling my AI File (probably a very basic error)

maran's picture
Submitted by maran on Thu, 2006-11-30 13:59. SE:V MODs

I have altered a few variables in the Racename_Main_Script given in the utilities directory, attempting to make a very serene, diplomatic race. However whenever I go to compile, all the included files are missing.

My basic question is where are they, how do I go about getting hold of them or opening an existing csf file to see how they did it.

Part of the error I get is below and it goes on listing all the files as missing. I have tried compiling in the scriptparser directory and the empire\(myracename) directory.

Could not parse Tarsus_Main_Script.txt (line #4): Could not load include file: C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires V\Empires\Tarsus\Script_AI_GlobalConstants.txt
Could not parse Tarsus_Main_Script.txt (line #5): Could not load include file: C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires V\Empires\Tarsus\Script_AI_GlobalVariables.txt
Could not parse Tarsus_Main_Script.txt (line #26): Could not load include file: C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires V\Empires\Tarsus\Script_AI_GlobalSettings.txt
Could not parse Tarsus_Main_Script.txt (line #27): Could not load include file: C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires V\Empires\Tarsus\Script_AI_Lists.txt
Could not parse Tarsus_Main_Script.txt (line #28): Could not load include file: C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires V\Empires\Tarsus\Script_AI_StateChange.txt
Could not parse Tarsus_Main_Script.txt (line #29): Could not load include file: C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires V\Empires\Tarsus\Script_AI_ColonyType.txt
Could not parse Tarsus_Main_Script.txt (line #30): Could not load include file: C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires V\Empires\Tarsus\Script_AI_Construction.txt

Any help appreciate, thanks.

Just wondering... Do you

Submitted by carlosjuero on Thu, 2006-11-30 14:16.

Just wondering...

Do you have an empire folder created for this already? The error is pointing to AI files within the empire directory for the Tarsus race; have you created that directory yet?

If not, just copy over one of the stock races to a new folder and rename it [and all of the files contained that have the race name] to your new race [Tarsus].

Yes I did that but this is

Submitted by maran on Thu, 2006-11-30 14:27.

Yes I did that but this is for the csf script file, not the normal txt files. I have just found the very basic error after a few hours (sigh) Smiling I had to compile inside the SE5EmpireScripts directory, where all the files indeed are...

Hope that helps some other new modder who runs a search for this error.

However its now saying that:

// call lst_Special_Weapon_WeapPlatform_Tech_Level.add(20)
// call lst_Special_Weapon_WeapPlatform_Name.add("Ionic Disperser")
// call lst_Special_Weapon_WeapPlatform_Tech_Area.add("Engine Overloading Weapons")

The middle line above 616 is out of bounds. Or more exactly TDatafile_Main_Strings.Get_String: Group out of bounds (D:\myvb\spaceempires5\se5\pgms\Datafile_Mainstrings.pas, line 616).

I have no clue why its saying that as I have not altered anything below the initial diplomatic variables.

I'm getting this error when

Submitted by maran on Thu, 2006-11-30 14:35.

I'm getting this error when I run the program now, before I even touch or load a file. I will restart and see if that fixes it.

-EDIT restarting the computer has removed the error, its probably down to the fact I am running the game from drive E: not D:... odd but anyway all is well and everythings compiled.
