More Demo bugs, movement and combat. |
I'm at turn 70 in a Demo game and I can no longer enter a warp point hex that has an enemy frigate in it. I have tried a fleet of LCs and single ships but I just can't enter that sector unless I warp in from the other side. I can initiate combat with the pissant frigate but can never catch it.
If I give orders to go to a hex in the next system, my ships will start to go the long way around though a loop of about 10 systems, all the while with their movement line pointing through the proper warp point. Extra weird.
How can I kill anything in combat when my ship only make it 1/4 of the way from the warp point to the corner where the enemy is hiding????? I've tried Tactical and Strategic.

Not the same in actual game...
Note this is isn't really a problem anymore as there is a defined retreat distance so the endless chase combats are more or less alleviated.

Are there mines in that hex? Right click on it and select "remove minefield marker" and see if that helps.
Demo out of date
Don’t forget that by now with 1.17 out and the next patch 1.2x on its way some time between now and Christmas the Demo is some what out of date and many of the bugs in it are either unique to the demo or have been fixed since 1.08




You need a faster ship
You’ll need to build a faster ship to catch the enemy frigate (search propulsion technologies). Btw I’m a bit surprised the enemy frigate tries to run away, generally they don’t do it unless they are heavily damaged or out of ordinance.
