Mines not working the way they are intended |
I started laying minefields on sectors with wormholes and I have 7 empires which I have friendly treaties with and 1 empire which I dont have any. I am putting these mines defensively against the empire I have no treaties with. According to manual these mines then should only trigger if that one empire flies through them, since they fall under the description "no political relationship or worse." However I keep getting messages that my minefields are being triggered by those friendly races I have treaties with.

Share Minefield Codes?
Do those treaties have the "Share Minefield Codes" provision?

I haven't observed aliens
I haven't observed aliens getting too ticked off over mines. In fact, the mines make a great deterrent factor against the constant border rushes, as even cheap mines in small stacks seems to persuade the AI to go elsewhere once they kill him once.
Can you mod how pissed off
Can you mod how pissed off the AI gets from minefields blowing up his ships if your in an alliance with him?
I don't think minefields
I don't think minefields tell you whose mines did that. Merely that there were mines and you were dumb enough to fly into them.

You have to have a treaty
You have to have a treaty clause that you are providing your minefield codes to your allies... otherwise boom and your allies might get peeeesed off....
