1.17 Patch Failure . . . |
I've got version 1.08, downloaded through Steam and wanted to apply the 1.17 patch, but when I try it first asks for the path to Space Empires V and when I give the right path (I tried subdirectories as well) it tells me that I haven't got the correct version and that it can't upgrade it - it says it's an upgrade for 1.00 and 1.08 - but I've got 1.08 ! ! !
I got the game through Steam, but am playing it on an older computer NOT connected to the internet - I simply copied the game folder to this older PC and that worked, except the patch won't work

I agree...If and when SEV becomes downloadable from someother site...I'll buy it again, just so I dont have to use steam!

You can't
You can't patch the steam version with the patch downloaded from the Internet. To patch the Steam version you need to be connected to the Internet and let Steam patch it.
