So how is MP play in 1.17? Any Better?

Sorry guys have not tried MP games since 1.13. Are they now playable? Do the turns process any faster than 15 minutes Smiling
Is the load save games working ok on LAN games?

Seems to be some bugs in it still. My friend and I play on a lan and the game now runs and processes ok (slow) but the computer ai takes over for the non host player every turn. Yes I (the host)wait for all the files to be submited and we tried to turn off the ministers but to no avail. All research, ships, etc., are changed the next turn, and even some treaty and race relation stuff is affected. If anyone has some sugestions I would live to hear them.

P.S. The turns are 2-3 min process with longer if combat (red line?) but I have a fast laptop (x2 4800) so I can't tell if its faster or not. last time I tried Mp didn't work.

Is there any difference in

Is there any difference in the bugs between the various methods, so that one of them works OK without this minister bug? i.e. TCP/IP, PBEM, PBW, PBFTP?

the minister bug is because the host, for some reason, is not getting the .plr file.

so yes, PBEM or PBFTP work fine.

This exact same thing happens to me a player. The host has no issues. AI even changes my build que and eliminates my ship designs except for a colony ship I created. Maybe one more patch is called for. Mikan
