Cheats not working for me |
Hi, been playing this unhealthy amounts of time over the last week, just finished a mammoth game without cheats but now I want to use a few to experiment with some of the other techs but I cannot for the life of me get them working!
I looked in the SEV wiki and followed the instructions to the letter but nothing happens, no confirmation, nothing!
The manual says use key ~
The wiki says use key `
???????
I used both whilst in the main window (system view) and tried several cheats and nothing happens.
Some help would be welcome.

So it looks as though the game doen't like my keyboard setup then. I use the Standard United Kingdom keyboard layout.
My ~ key is next to my Return key and requires shift to be held down.
My ` key is underneath my Escape key and requires no extra modifier keys to be pressed.
Anymore input from others would be welcome.
Confirmed broken.
Changing the cheat key to another key and saving it enables me to activate the cheat function.
I can see the red text in the lower left of the screen, I can type in the cheat but cannot activate it. Instead it's just stuck there, I cannot deactivate the input or anything.

That's exactly what I am doing.
For example: `alltech` or ~alltech~ fails to do anything whatsoever.
Changing it to another key such as "-" brings up the cheat input but fails to accept it. e.g: -alltech-
Settings
You must start a new game and make sure you click 'Allow Cheats' in the game setup window. Its off by default I think.

It's activated by default and I have had it enabled for all of these attempts.

Seeing as how they're both the same key on US keyboard, I suspect you're on an international keyboard. Its known that international keyboards have issues with the cheats.

As I suspected
I'm using an international keyboard yes and those 2 symbols are on different keys.
Cheats do not work for me
Cheats do not work for me too. Maybe because I use the german keyboard drivers. I get nice little things like ÖÄÜöäü but some key are located at different places. After a destroyed research project I can do what I want, write research even backwards, it does not work.
But cheats are not important, it only really hurts, when you try a few things out. Like after modding, to see if yo did not hurt the balance to much.

Edit : You can reset the ~ key , i changed it to +, but it still does not work.
