Seriously, Folks, I May Have Found Something Important

I now have four separate games that all hang at the processing stage and they ALL have ONE thing in common! According to the savegames, the trouble starts exactly at the point where the game introduces a new empire into play.

Does anyone know of a file that can be edited to prevent the addition of that new player? It just might be the answer to many of the game freezes.

‹ OK... Now It's Completely Unplayable!!! Is there a workaround the endless battle? ›

uhm, how does the game introduce a new empire to the game? aren´t they all set (by player or randomly) at the beginning of the game??

I noticed this as well... In the latest game I disabled intelligence and have gotten through many turns without any hangups on turn processing.

I am playing version 1.08

I am playing version 1.08 with Balance Mod 94. All works very well, except the boarding ships. The AI is excellent and the empires make war, dialog, make alliances and do trade with me (the only problem, very minor, is the log that is inversed).
I think that, to will too many implementation to the game, we are destroyin it.

revolt or intelligence attack

If a planet revolts, or an enemy empire uses intelligence attacks to 'subvert' a planet they can turn into a new player.

Example: One of your planets revolts (after rioting for a certain period of time) - if it wasn't an intelligence attack then they have a chance of forming a completely new empire (new player).

Example 2: An intelligence attack against a planet (there are 2 that affect population, Anarchy Groups and another one I can't remember the name of) and is successful then there is a chance that that planet will either join the enemy empire, or create a completely new empire.

-Currently subjecting multiple galaxies to the doom of conquer or blackholes

ahh i see, silly me....forgot that method as it was in SEIV also.

well cosmic marvel, guess you might realy have something there then.
you should open an isssue and support them with the savegames.

on the next page choose issue and then follow the instructions.

balance mod is a

balance mod is a modification of the stock SEV from captain kwok.
the actual version is .96 i think.

it´s purpose is to balance some gameparts that seem to not be optimal in the stock version, i.e. it changes a lot in research.
some like it, some don´t as not everybody likes the balances that he made so it´s just up to test it and see what fits your playingstyle better.
i personaly like it Smiling

Balance Mod is Good

At least in my opinion. The only thing I don't like is the higher research costs, even on low costs. Just seems to research a little to slow for my liking, so I just changed the formula in the formula setting, so low costs are divided by 4, it's not much faster, but its faster, and still fun (I wish I could exclude colony tech from this, maybe i'll have to go set a seperate research value for them, cause they should be really high)
