Starbases don't fire |
I built a great starbase with direct fire weapons, missiles and point defense.
Thought it would defend my planet but how wrong was I.The enemy fleet pulled up blew it up without it even firing one shot. It had full ordnance and supply.
Has anyone else had this problem and how do you get round it ?

Dang ole supplies
Did your design include any supply storage components? If it didn't, the base won't fire nor will it's shields work. Ships get away with not having supply storage on them because of their engines, bases obviously do not. I know it's kind of daft, given that a base built in orbit is sitting on top of a huge pile of supplies & ordnance, but there you have it.
Suction feet are not to be trifled with!

Has supplies
That's the first thing I thought, but then I reread the original post and discovered that it was fully supplied/ordinanced(?).

Ya know what? With all of
Ya know what? With all of the playing I have been doing with SE:V I didn't realize that bases needed supplies now (SE:IV they had 'Unlimited' supplies) - luckily none of my worlds with bases have been attacked. (I am a satellite fiend for protection, that and Weapon Platforms)

I don't think so, for some
I don't think so, for some reason when you add the computer core to a satellite it gets 50 supply and the weapons add ordnance storage (enough for a few rounds of firing at least). I know I was suprised when creating a new satelite design to see that it had a supply level.

Strategy?
What strategy did you set that design as having? It could be that the strategy was convinced that it shouldn't fire.
