Add Empire Option to filter out ship movement display

Submitted by bobber on Sun, 2006-11-12 22:55.
Project:Space Empires V
Version:1.13
Component:User interface
Category:feature
Priority:normal
Assigned:Unassigned
Status:active

Description

If I have a lot of colony ships moving about, it takes a few minutes for all of their movement to be displayed until I can start issuing commands for my turn. An empire option that supressed displaying movement for certain classes of ships (e.g. colonizers, ships not in a fleet, ships under control of ministers, etc.) would be really nice.

Thanks

I loved being able to turn

Submitted by Ceragus on Sun, 2006-11-26 23:25.

I loved being able to turn ship movement animation OFF in Space Empires IV. As it stands, while trying to get the game to save (as I am one of those who have, around turn 55 or so, started having frequent save errors), I took control of a computer player with about 150 ships. He moved about 80 of them. I watched, over the course of ten minutes, him moving all the ships. It was about one sector every one and one-half second, which was quite annoying. Worse of all, it still didn't save.

So for sure, being able to suppress movement animation would be a Godsend.
