Treaties

How do I accept the computer's proposed changes when I have sent him an invitation to make a treaty? I could not find a button in the empire comm. panel which would allow me to do so.

I had a previous treaty and wanted to improve the terms from 'non-agression' to 'trade, research, and medical aid'.

Hit "Reply", then at the top on the left is "Accept Treaty"

I must say I am very impressed with the new treaties system. I love that you can now choose the elements to your treaties, such as no planet destroying, and even better the option to set border permissions. IE destroy their colony ships if the try to make colonies in your systems.

I like the the new treaty system as well. It has a wealth of depth that just wasn't there in SEIV. Of course the problem is writing an AI that uses all this effectively and intelligently. So far that isn't there yet. I am really looking forward to the AI mods, like TDM in SEIV, but I assume those will take a while.

Treaty Options I'de like to see

Allow [race] to colonize [specific_system]|[specific_planet]
This can be a trade, offering one system for another, or one planet for another.

Use of third-party races, to develop or hinder relationships with allies/enemies. Such as "Disallow trading with [other_race]"

To elaborate on the above, the ability to colonise on an occupied system 'without' lowering relations with that empire.

Treaties in SE:V are

Treaties in SE:V are amazing, although I'd still like to be able to define such terms as "old technology" myself. I am having an odd bug pop up where sometimes I can only hit "view" for a treaty proposal, as there is no button to accept it with.

Have you checked out what you can do with the intelligence. You can now spend points 'assisting' in a friendly empires intelligence projects. Effectively ganging up on an enemy.
