Grabbing the patch now as I type. I guess everyone else is as well because it's going rather slowly (ok, very). Looking at the changelogs though, I'm really glad those two AI bugs were fixed. Hopefully there won't be anymore hanging during turn processing. If everything works, you'll probably never hear from me again due to my soul being stolen by the game, in which case I want to say thank you for all the hard work.

Version 1.13:
1. Fixed - Sometimes the TCP/IP Host would not send the first turn game file to the players.
2. Fixed - Planet structure points were too high.
3. Fixed - "Propulsion Experts" racial trait was giving movement to bases.
4. Fixed - Some designs would lose racial trait effects on load of game.
5. Fixed - Text was overruning the side of the Set Construction Queue lists.
6. Fixed - A ship constructing a vehicle cannot retreat from combat.
7. Added - Whether a vehicle can retreat from combat to the Combat Piece Report.
8. Fixed - Repulser beams will not knock a ship past the retreat border.
9. Fixed - A ship cannot retreat into a blocked sector (such as a star).
10. Fixed - If all retreat locations are blocked, no retreat is possible.
11. Fixed - In the Construction Queues window, the On Hold and Repeat filters were switched.
12. Fixed - "Upgrade Facilities" action on the Construction Queues window would not work correctly
if upgrades were already present in the queue.
13. Changed - Some weapon balancing.
14. Fixed - More than one Emergency Resupply or Emergency Reordnance pod could be put on a ship.
15. Fixed - AI was sending multiple colonizers to the same planet.
16. Fixed - AI was trying to retrofit ships that had cargo.
17. Fixed - Sometimes ships which could drop troops or capture ships would just sit still.
18. Fixed - Crew were too strong in defense of a ship during ship capture.
19. Added - "Space Combat Crew Boarding Strength" in Settings.txt which sets the base race combat strength.
20. Fixed - Sometimes finding ruins would cause a crash.
Hang Fix
Does anyone know if this patch fixes the game hang/freeze that happens after about 50 turns or so? After playing the game for a wile it will hang when the AI players are taking their turn. It never did it with the demo...

Crashed
Well, I did something quite unusual that made the game crash 
I loaded an old empire (version 1.08), and I noticed that it still didn't have the technologies, so I removed it from the empire list. I then clicked on "Edit Empire" instead of "New Empire" and the game crashed to desktop.
It's not a big issue, but I think that it should be adressed even if on a very low priority 

AI debug files
Its hard to say... I can give you some help if you can help me out first. What you would need to do is get up to that point in a game, and have a save game the turn before. If you can get this far, excellent, as most people find that they don't have a save game right there. Then you can either send me the save game or you could set up the DebugSetting.txt and just send the log. The same game can be sent to richardsck at crafters dash haven dot net. If you wish to do the debugsettings change so you get the error, then we can try and see if the debug file will still generate and show where its hanging.
To do the debugsettings.txt file change, go to SE5/Data and open the file. Change these lines to say:
Generate Game Debug Log := TRUE
Debug Section Script Evaluation Detailed := TRUE
Debug Print Sections := TRUE
When you run the turn let it sit for about a min on the errant empire and then kill the game (like in task manager or something), it will generate some 5-6M files for each empire. Locate the file of the errant empire, their names will be something with Plr2, Plr3 etc. zip up that file and hopefully its not too huge, then you should be able to email that to the address above and I can try and diagnose what is going on with the AI.

Hang Fix
Thanks for your help Robert. I have only had it hang on an AI empire turn once. It usually does it at the final step after all empires have taken their turn. I’ll try the patch and see if it still does it. Do you think I should start a new game?

Events and Intel Debug files
Ok, if it is hanging at the end instead of during the player processing. there will be 2 other files that aren't player files, they will have a name like ExternalEvents and Intelligence. Send those instead.

Crash after combat
I keep crashing after a space combat on an enemy planet using the Strategic Combat. If I use the Tactical Combat it works fine. Should I send the savegame to MM?

I should add that this is a new game created with version 1.13 and a brand new empire...

Install Patches in Sequence?
My game just arrived in the mail minutes ago (YEA!!) and I'm installing right now. I'd already d/led the 1.08 patch in anticipation of installing it. Do I need to install them in sequence or can I just use the latest patch?

DL Failure!!!
I haven't been able to successfully download this file after 3 or 4 tries. Its either corrupt or downloads for a while and says it couldn't complete due to loosing connection with the server.
If at all possible, somebody host this file elsewhere please!!!! I realize there is a rush to get the file, but it seems ridiculous to me that a file this size should bring their bandwidth to its knees like this.

Games crash every time i click one Particular system. Same error as befor. "TDirect3DxFile.start can't find xFile". HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have already uploaded it http://www.filecloud.com. Hope it helps for the slow download from Strategy first website. It took me about hour to download form their site and only 5 minutes to upload it to filecloud. Just search the user library for the file name se5patch_v113.exe it should be right on top.

Can't set up a new game after installing 1.13
I,m having major prob's. When setting up new game, SEV freezes and crashes while I'm making my selections. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled then applied 1.13 patch and it still won't stay stable. I've been able to play once or twice before at ver. 1.08, but now can't even get a game started. Can someone please help?

i just had a crash after finishing a strategic battle under the 1.13 patch. Otherwise, I like the improvements.

Apparent hang during end of turn processing
The game takes a very long time to process after all the player turns. I left it for 15 minutes and nothing happened so I ended up forcibly shutting down the game.
I have two proposals in the alliance window, so I wonder if this might be responsible.
I am playing 1.13 through Steam.

1.08 it only happend playing larger universes, so Im playing smaller ones..
1.13 now it also hangs playing in smaller universes...

you may have problems with
you may have problems with old games if ships are outside the combat radius.
if you're getting frezes etc prosessing a similt game that had combat where ships got a long way out in prev versions you might try increasing the combat map radius.

The boarding is still broken, unless you attack ships that have only Master Computers.

I have had SE5 minimize on
I have had SE5 minimize on its own twice. When I bring it back up the graphics on the main screen are all screwed up and the cursor flashes. I can save exit and restart and everything is fine,. just thought I would bring this up.

hey thanks bud. Yeah, I forgot about the safe gfx mode. It has only happened twice though, I don't know how many hours so it isn't a big deal, especially since I can recover without losing anythign but a moment of time. I was just trying to mention it so it is a known issue and to see if it is just me or not.
