Boarding a ship |
I am new in SE5, but how can I board a ship? Each time the combat ends and my boarding ship is unable to board the enemy.
I excuse me for my bad english, I am french-canadian.

cannot board ships that have crew
If the ship has 1 or more crew members, boarding will fail. It is a bug.
The only way to board a ship is if it has a master computer instead of crew, or by destroying all the crew quarters before boarding. But since crew quarters are usually near the end of the internals, there usually isn't going to be anything worth boarding by that time.
Also in a related bug, if the ship has two security stations, or two boarding parties, it will be immune to boarding actions. If it has only one or less of each kind, boarding will succeed. You only need one boarding party to do it.

Awesome. I've been hoping I could try out setting mines on some Warp Points that take out shields and engines. I might be able to get a ship that'll destroy their shields then get one with toxin injectors... Then finally board their ship. From the sounds of it... That should work. Seems like an aweful lot of work. Can you repair a captured ship?

Boarding is bugged even with the new patch, and so are Toxin Injectors.
Basically the crews are immortal and won't die, so you can't really take them over!

Boarding is broken in 1.13 unless the ship you're attacking has a Master Computer.
You need to...
In order to capture ships with boarding parties you need to
- Destroy the enemy ship shields
- Board the ship (The ship need to have the "Capture Ship" strategy set)
