General ImpressionsSubmitted by Fangman on Wed, 2008-10-01 23:08. Space Empires V GeneralI've had SE5 up and running for a week. After a few stumbles and a little bit of a learning curve, I can see why the game has so many fans. A few gripes: All the neat stuff you use when you design your ships not to mention the time it takes, and you never get to see any of it in action. Planet size. Description of the planet says HUGE and you end up with 5000 facility space. When it says SMALL you end up with 10,000 or more. I realize that size is probabley controlled with a random number generator (die roll), but... The in-game help is a joke (as is the book that comes with the game) and more trouble than it's worth. Tells you everything about fleets except HOW to make one. Or, MESSAGES. I ran across the Treaty screen once, but haven't been able to find it since. » read more | 5 comments |
Is the blance mod AI smart enough to....Submitted by evader23 on Thu, 2008-10-02 10:24. SE:V MODsWork with other mods? I have a personal mod(not ready to release yet, maybe someday) That starts with IRM add adds to it. It doesn't change the overall game though(much like balance mod) Could the balabce AI work with it? |

Inigma's Strategy GuidesSubmitted by inigma on Thu, 2008-10-02 11:11. Space Empires V GeneralI was curious to know if anyone has used my Strategy Guides and what effect using them have had on the enjoyment of your game play. I just want to know if anyone found them useful since they've been up on the wiki all this time. I wrote them last year, but since it mostly follows using Balance Mod, it works in stock and other mods too, and has not required modification or update. Inigma's SEV Strategy Guides |
Seeker chance to hit modifier.Submitted by Synthmilk on Thu, 2008-10-02 13:38. Space Empires V GeneralI'm playing stock SEV, and I've been playing around with Seekers vs Direct Fire weapons, and found that it appears seekers have a higher chance to hit than direct fire weapons, despite their chance to hit modifier being identical at any given range. I was wondering if anyone knows what the difference in chance to hit is, and it would be handy if that fact was stated as part of the seeker weapon info, or reflected in the chance to hit bar. |
