Drones and Game Balance

All,

Drones have been a point of contention of mine for a while now. I've seen them SEVERELY unbalance games in both Devnull Mod and Balance Mod games. Devnull was working on this before he disappeared, but the problem still persists in my mind and its becoming more and more evident in our current game using the B5W Mod.

Let me show you some examples of what I'm referring to.

Fighter Craft:
1. I have a current fighter level that grants me 28kt fighters.
2. I add the essentials on the fighter. Engines, cockpit, life support, etc.
3. I have say 20kts left over for weapons and armor.

Question on UK version of Space Empires V

I just purchased SE-V online. When I received the e-mail confirmation I found that I had bought the UK version. Not having received the software as yet I don't know what the version number will be.

My question is;

Will the US version patches (if needed) work on the UK version?

What am I doing wrong?

Ok, I’m still having problems with some of my shipset AI running properly. I copied some of the stock game races’ General AI, changed their names and race descriptions. All pertinent info, government type planet type and so on were also changed but I’m still having problems with these races doing anything.
What am I doing wrong? Is there another AI script I should be altering such as AI_Main or AI_Ships etc?
Also I couldn’t get any of them to work in the Balance mod after I reloaded the game, and yes all of my software is updated with the latest versions.
