Creation of planets with moonSubmitted by LordDemon on Thu, 2008-06-26 08:40. SE:V MODsI was looking around in SystemTypes.txt, and StellarObjects.txt, and noticed that in all the stock systems the moons of large planets are predefined. This got me wondering, is it possible to make the system create the moons itself. In the start of the SystemTypes there is the chance table for planets (tiny,small,medium,large and huge all having 20% chance of being formed) Would it be possible to add for example "large+1 moon" somehow to this randomization table, and have them both created? I don't think that would be doable, because there would need to be two(or more) separate planets defined in single orject, with their atmospheres, compositions and sizes, but I could be wrong. Is there a way to get it work? I know abjects can be later added in systems (storm creator) but can it be done here? Is there a way to make the map generation to add a moon object in the list after the planet size is picked? » read more | 3 comments |
How do you make point defense prioritize targeting seekers?Submitted by Zteel on Thu, 2008-06-26 09:34. Space Empires V GeneralI have made point defense able to hit ships, but I can’t get the point defense to fire on any seekers if there is a ship at the same time. I tried to make it prioritize targeting seekers in empire options but it didn’t work. What I did: I changed the maximum weapon range strategy: Targeting Priority Order Target Type Order And Settings I have also tried targeting priority order: smallest and fastest. |

If it's not 1, does anyone create planets that are just stacked with shipyards to really crank out the ships? I am nearing the middle phase of my game. Colonization is complete and i'm bunching up against other civs. On a medium galaxy how much should i have by way of resources in order to carry out my plans of mass anhilation? Currently I have 2 3-star systems packed with solar generators. I was lucky to have two huge breathable colonies in one, so i've got about about 50 facilities each kicking out 3x resources. I only have about 200k in storage for backup and now that my eyes are toward my enemies, what would you suggest? I only have a few ships out there, mainly barely armed scouts and colony ships. Should i be looking at 1 million/turn expenditures when i get into war? » read more | 5 comments |
