Understanding Tactical Combat and Strategies

I don´t know if there is some thread explaining that, I haven´t found.

I´m now playing SEV 1.71 mod DevnullMod 1.71.3.1

Please, give me some clue about these topics:

1. A don´t understand distance in tactical combat. One sector ( 1 Hex. is 1 ly? ) and each square is how many ly ? Sad

2. Which are Engage Distance tipology equivalence in squares??

3. In SEIV, I remember you can see your weapons reloaded. In SEV you can´t?

4. Reload time for standard weapons could be 2000 seconds, but you are only fighting 3 minutes, one reload? But i´m firing several times..... Sad

5. I am attacking a planet with no defenses at all (only people) with 2 destroyers (you don´t know how well armed..Smiling) But when I get into tactical or stategic combat, they run like hell..

Multiple Weapons Question

I'm in a campaign (Unnamed Mod)w/ latest patch, and at war with a fighter using race. Since my fleets are still being built for this war, i have had to rely on my own fighters for the time being. So naturally i designed a pure superiority fighter to keep what we have ours, til the fleet arrives. I put in a variety of wpns just to deal with enemy fighters......

2x Proton Beams
2x Uranium Cannons
3x Meson Blasters

....tested them on the space battle sim and they work great, 1 of mine can easily defeat 4 of theirs. Then i noticed that during combat my fighter was fireing 2 green beams and 2 small projectiles ( i'm assuming the projectiles were the Uranium Cannons and the Green Beams were the Proton Beams), and did not see any other wpns fire thru out the battle. So i'm not sure if the Meson Blasters were being used or not. I selected targeting with wpns and then selected all the wpns on the list vs 1 of the fighters on the next test run....and the same results with the same graphic effects...2 beams 2 projectiles.
