Space Empires V GeneralHiya, I have always avoided treaties with migration clauses and destroyed enemy colony ships that I have encountered. However, I am currently playing a 1.71 BM 1.14A game and for the first time have experimented with boarders and managed to capture an enemy colony ship of a race that breathes a different atmosphere to my Terran oxygen breathers. The race in question are methane breathers and I unloaded the colony ships population onto a methane planet, removed my oxygen breathers and undomed the planet but have a few questions regarding migration that hopefully someone can answer. Firstly, I think I read somewhere that population increases on a new colony partly by reproduction and partly by migration from other colonised planets I have, assuming this is correct.... » read more | 28 comments |

Right now the Racial Traits are probably really poorly balanced, especially at their extreme values, and I don't know how the default AI empires will react to their default racial traits and governement types being invalid : You should rather create yourself the AI empires. When you're typing in-game (like when writing an empire description, or a political message), it would be really neat to be able to go back and edit already written text without having to delete everything I've already written. A cursor that could be moved, like in a word processing program, or these forums, would facilitate this. As it is, the cursor can only ever be at the end of the text, which means to go back, you have to delete text. Which is a little annoying, for the long-winded of us. Anyway, I hope this doesn't come off as a jerkish sort of demand. Just thought, you know, I'd put it out there. Shipset ViewerSubmitted by Antarian on Mon, 2008-05-19 22:41. Space Empires V GeneralWhat happened to the Shipset Viewer? Right up until the latest patch, I could view any shipset, easily, by either transferring the x file to the utility folder or copying the shipset viewer exe to the empire's folder. Simple! Was very easy to see and fix any problems with weapons arcs immediately. Now when I copy the shipset viewer to a (non-stock) empire folder and try to run it, it crashes. If I copy the empire's shipset x file to the viewer's folder and try to open it, I get a blank screen. What gives?
