which file controls ai tech research

I can not figure out which file tells the ai what tech to research. Could someone please point me to the correct one. I have added new planet tech and need to get the ai to researh it.

Warp Point 'parking'

I think that Warp Point 'parking' is poor form by both the player and the AI as it creates battles when I go through a warp point and meet the AI for the 1st time.

Is there a way to make the warp point tile a none park zone?

That is also one other grudge I have, automatic battles when accidental landing on a tile that the AI is one when I have never meet the AI and we are not enemies.

Hi there,

I really enjoy SEV but it also really gets on my nerve.

I notested that i contantly have to upgrade and change ships designs and stuff, and that takes the adrenaline of just explore, build and fight.

Is it possible for SEV to manage the ships upagrades alone?

It really takes a lot of time designing all of them just to find out that they only serve for ... about... a few turns, before i have to comeback and do it all again with new ones and upgrading the old ones.

Newbie Question:

Ive played Space Empires since SE3, and am now trying my hand at modding. I am currently programming my first Mod, which adds a new racial tech.

Im trying to make the last piece of vr 1.0, but I can't figure out how do to it. I am trying to add an event that would make a ship that has just been captured by boarding parties (which may be a new component that comes with the mod since this is a racial tech) automatically have its tech analyzed without having to be deconstructed; but i don't know how to change the event. (I think its probably in the external evend file, which comes to problem 2)

Might make managing your shipsets and mods a bit easier, no? Using a junction point (or symbolic directory link if you're running Vista) to point from a mod's Empires directory to your stock Empires directory will save you the trouble of copying all those shipsets to all your mod folders! Heed the warnings in the article, though, if you're not running Vista...

I already posted this over at PBW because I thought it would *really* help Geo manage the site, but I suppose other players might want to know as well Eye-wink I say players who play multiplayer exclusively because if you want to play a mod against the AI, you'll need the mod's custom AI's, of course, so while the idea will work for multiplayer, you'll either need to make another SE5 install for single player or shuffle Empires directories around...
