War and Civilization 2

Hello!

I'm Crian and I'm starting my 2nd PBW game War and Civilization 2 at the PBW site. This is for SEV v. 1.66 with BM 1.13.

I had to cancel the first game I started because of multiple reasons, unfortunately Sad :(. Anyway, with the tons of improvements in the game done by the latest slew of patches I'm definitely gonna push through 'till the end with this one so come on let's play! Laughing out loud

If you're interested here are the guidelines I set for the game:

1.) This is an open game with no rules, etc. I hope to play with 5 other players and I won't start until there are 6 of us so please be patient.

Population growing happier

The past 2 turns I got a message in my 'News' items telling me that the population in my system is growing happier because of the military presence in my system.

OK... that's very cool...

But, what does it do ?? All the population on all my 6 planets in that system are already in a 'jubilant' mood...

So what purpose is this message ??

pop movement bug?

I have noticed a problem when moving alien population around in SE4. I had
some rioting, and added some troops to fix the situation, but it
wasn't quite enough. So I decided to try to remove some of the alien
population and replace it with human. Then I took the alien pop and
moved it to a large world, where they would be in the minority. I
never had a chance to see if this would work, becasue when I checked
my construction queue, looked at planet facilities, I saw that the two
planets that had the population altered were now 'smaller planets'.
My 15 facility planet dropped to 5, my 25 dropped to 15. So I had crazy fractions like 11/5, saying I had 11 facilites (which I did) on 5-facility planet. Needless to say I certainly couldn't build any more on those planets.

Galaxy Size - BM1.13, how many planets in each size, & other questions.

Hi there, fairly new to the game and was about to set up a multi player game.

I'm using 1.66 with BM 1.13 mod, using PBW.cc

How many star systems are in each setting with that configuration? I can't seem to find a document anywhere that specifies.

Any settings I should turn off because of bugs that would cause crashes? I have the following settings:

5 human players
max # computer AI
No Neutral AIs
biggest galaxy
Low Racial pts (2000)
low starting tech (50000)
Highest AI levels
Low AI starting bonus

This will be all the players first time through the game, but most are M002 vets.

Ship Building

Put simply: I'd like to start making empires/ships, so has anyone ever made any tutorials for ship making? I can make 3D models, but I noticed that the ships in SEV are just flat skins, and I don't know how to do that.

Image mod

Hey guys, the full install, self extracting Imagemod file hosted on the bittorent site is corrupt or something. The planets.bmp won't load and has ruined SEIV in that I can't play it at all, I get to the first screen and it tells me it can't load planets.bmp and I have 2 choices, sit and look at this screen for awhile or quit the game.

I was advised to download Irfanview and resave the file into .bmp (although it already is a .bmp) so I did, but Irfanview won't load it up either, it says "Can't load file header!" and "Unknown file type or file not found!"

So my question is this: Is there anywhere else I can download a real, working copy of atleast the planets.bmp? I would greatly appreciate it.

SE5 awesomeness

OK I know I spam this board too much but oh well Smiling I have several questions and an a couple of unsolicited opinions Smiling

1.First off the balance mod rocks the AI is tricky and even funny sometimes.
2.The artist for SE5 is great...the one who does the space pictures. Some are even beautiful.
3.I sure hope SE5 keeps getting better with SE6. If this game had the big budget you got another Civ success story...maybe even more so but for god sakes dont publish retail when the game is really still in beta--those initial bad reviews KILLED the general publics awareness of this game which is sad. This thing has MEGA potential imho. Its SE4 in a different wrapping but still the same kick-butt game.

Technical Problem

So, I can start a game, get 2-300 turns in and then the game will hang during end-turn processing, or give an error where it cannot find file "c:\program"

It gave a similar error previously, but I uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems to work okay.

I bought my copy over Steam, if that matters.

Any ideas?

automatic waypoints for newly constructed ships?

I see an automatic move to but were do u go to set this up? I wananbe able to automatically move ships that are just consutructed from the planet to areas were I can rally forces at thanks alot!
