Right now I am actually reading the manual to Space Empires V Smiling
and got some new Ideas from it Smiling

If you done it allready tell me, if not everyone is allowed to use them freely ( and then tell me Smiling

Again, I'll do no coding .. just suggesting Smiling
( maybe planning ^^ )

I allready posted a suggestion to Gideon for his GidMod but I think all of you should know about it
( and help pressure Gid into including it Smiling

GREAT JOB ON THE GIDMOD by the way .. it's my favorite atm Smiling

but now, less yapping more details

I want Organic PD. Or Crystal PD .. Just a bit more use for the Racial Trait Weapons Smiling

Ancient Galaxies

Is it possible or just plain crazy to put empty Spheres or Ringworlds
as "Planets" in a random Galaxy ...
it could be possible in an ancient setting Smiling

Mod coding help

In my SEV Lite I've condensed the tech trees.

How would i change the Ruins tech to only give bonuses to existing techs versus trying to give something thats not there any more or to something new I'm adding?

I've looked at what I think is the formula's, but unsure what the values mean.

A little insight on what all these mean would be most helpful!! i put the whole section below for reference. Either, I want all ruins to just bump the existing tech or give a new technology if easy to code.

From StellarAbilitiesTypes.txt:

It was a dud!

I am playing stock 1.66 ATM, but am thinking of some basic changes. In my invasions, I have noticed the AI building Satellites and Drones without any weapons (but gets that combat sensor in there Laughing out loud). I would like to fix that. The other thing I noticed was militia carry no weapons either. They should get at least minor weapons. I am wondering if the AIs are ignoring "small weapons" as a tech path, and don't have an appropriate range of choices to make.

What files / entries would need to be changed to fix these problems?

Starship Troopahs

Question is I have the balance mod and I am trying to drop troops and take over a planet. I can only do it successfully if I put all my ships in a massive fleet with fleet orders to Capture Planet.

But what happens is...my fleet wipes out all the fighters then RETREATS and the drop ships go down with 2 others and they drop the troops...but both the dropships AND the two escorts are sacrificed.

Any simple way to avoid this? I mean I tried almost every strategy and the one I really wanted to use was send in a fighter swarm ahead of the dropships but could not figure out a decent way to do it.

Music

Hi,
I have been playing SEV for some 6 months now and use this forum quite a lot. So I thought I had better contribute.
For those fellow gamers who would like to change their music,
go to http://www.getmeasong.com/ use the search bar put the song title you want and it finds it for you to download.
I then generally just change that song title to the SEV title
that I want to relpace in the music folder.
