how do you change the ai to use certain things?

Hi ive created a new unit type called missile( its essentially a small, cheap drone) and i want to edit the ai so that computer opponents use this in their ship designs. the problem is i have no idea how to do this, can anyone help me?

Coming Soon, Mobile Mod!

My next project (After the EvilMod gets properly up on its feet) is the Modility Mod!
I expect it to be ready by late March early April.

This mod will be set in desolate quadrants, colonies/planets will be scarce and you will basicly be managing an empire on the move.

Possibilities:

New Quads
Many facilities will be on ships
New "worldships" (I got the name from several other mods)
Massive new tech tree.

Ships will be fewer and bigger. Maybe slower?
Change to blackholes, maybe a random event that could transport you 1/2 way across the quad.

Much more to be announced before the release. (Probs early March)

AI modding... Help me, please!!!

I want to let AI use the new component I've created in my personal mod, and looking a little bit around the AI files, I've seen how to make... or I think so.

I've created 3 new component (at least in this moment...):

1) Temporal Shield (block anything)
2) Self Repairing Armor (Armor which repair itself like Organic)
3) Self Repairing Emissive Armor (Self Repairing and Emissive...)

If I don't make a mistake, I must add in file "Script_AI_GlobalConstants_Components.txt" the entry, like this:

1) AI_COMPONENT_TEMPORAL_SHIELD_GENERATOR: string := "Temporal Shield Generator"
2) AI_COMPONENT_SELF_REP_ARMOR: string := "Self Repairing Armor"

AI surrender

Colony Type

The files "SCript_AI_ColonyType.txt" seems to say that ALL AI COLONY are resource type colony... why? In stock the AI don't make Research Compound or Intelligence Compound?

Not producing intelligence points

I have two Intelligence Centers (level 1, should produce 500 points each) which don't produce intelligence points (not when looking at empire level or planet level).

Some information:
- V1.66
- stock
- race Cue Cappa Commonwealth (space port not required, so I don't have any spaceports)
- other resources (minerals, research points etc.) are gathered OK
- both Int. Centers are in systems where also other races (not enemies, not allies) have planets
- no treaties where "No intelligence" clausul (checked twice)

Searched, but not found any hints. Any comments/ideas/knowledge?

The next version of the Balance Mod, v1.13, is available for download. It has a few data file fixes along with more AI improvements.

Note there are two versions you can download. You should download the v1.13 data only archive if you already have v1.11 or v1.12 installed, otherwise download the full version.

I hope to have a v1.14 update shortly, which will focus on making major AI design improvements.

What is the Best Formation and Strategy?

Just curious. I was wondering what everyone thought was the best offensive/defensive formation and strategy to use in their experience. I've pretty much settled on Wall/Wall and Point Blank in stock and Wall/Wall and Optimal or Max range in BM. Smiling

Hi again umm I just recently installed the balance mod and it does not show up. I guessing it because the of the version of the game I have which is V 1.66. Am i right?
