TroopdanceSubmitted by eberk on Fri, 2008-01-18 03:20. Space Empires V GeneralHello, Anybody experienced a similar matter ?? In a multiplayer game I invaded an enemy homeworld with 12 troops (it seems it was defended by 5 Militia) The next turn I got my savegame back by mail, I got the battle result where NOT A SINGLE troop had been destroyed !! So I took a look at the combat replay and it seemed that right from the start all the enemy AND my troops were drawn to a single point on the battlefield... and when thet arrived they started spinning wildly. So after a 30 seconds all 17 troops were doing a dance on the same point... It was a colourfull sight, some kind of caleidoscope thing... |
Carriers and OrdnanceSubmitted by eberk on Fri, 2008-01-18 06:01. Space Empires V FAQsCan somebody please explain how the Ordnance and Supplies work on Carriers ??? I have found that after several uses some of my fighters remain behind because they don't have Ordnance anymore... How much Ordnance should I put on a Carrier to solve this issue ?? I have a Light Carrier with 40 Light Fighters (20 Fighter Bays). Don't know how much Ordnance components I have on that Carrier Design. Do the Fighters have their own supply store ?? Do they use the Ordnance from the Carrier ?? I would like to know how this works so I can redesign my Carriers (I also have a Heavy Carrier Design with Heavy Fighters but that has up until now never seen action) » read more | 10 comments |

Economy Idea: Materials & LaborSubmitted by ekolis on Fri, 2008-01-18 10:33. SE:V MODsSo I had an idea for how to implement a slightly different economic system for SE5... it's actually kind of based on the system that MOO3 had, but simplified a bit... Basically, the three resources, instead of all being various types of materials, are as follows: * Materials - These is matter, your raw building blocks. The interesting thing is, while you need goods as well as materials and labor to build things, the only way to GET goods is to spend materials and labor! This is because Goods are only produced in Factories, which are facilities that cost Materials and Labor to build (and thus to maintain), but produce Goods, based on the planet's Goods value (because of course some planets have rare and valuable treasures). » read more | 10 comments |
Fleet in combatSubmitted by Rollo007 on Fri, 2008-01-18 15:29. Space Empires V GeneralI have always problems to identify the fleet leader in combat. Exists there an easy way to locate the leader? I also would like to modify the distance of the ships in a fleet. When I have small ships, the distance is too far. Is it possible to influence the distance. A multiplier would be fine. Then I would be able increase or decrease the distance, depending on the value. Of course this should be an individual value per fleet. |

Can't save empiresSubmitted by bearclaw on Fri, 2008-01-18 18:32. Space Empires V Generalfor some bizarre reason, I don't have a button to load a saved empire. Or for that matter, to save an empire I've created from the empire creation screen. To save an empire I have to save the game then save it through the File menu. Am I missing something? |
