Bugs with Shield Imploder, chrystalline tech

Submitted by LordDemon on Sun, 2008-01-13 10:54. Bug Reports

Can someone give me some info on the two following bugs (both on stock version 1.66):

First is with shield Imploder. According to description, it should cause damage to the ship by imploding shields.
In practice, any hit from shield imploder removes all shields from the target but cauess no further damage. Is this how it is supposed to work, or is the target ship supposed to take damage when the shields collapse? What is the effect of the weapon damage, if any level hit drops all shields on target?

Second is to do with chrystalline tech and analyzing captured ships. If the ship you capured has higher level chrystalline armor, you can get a tech level from it when analyzing the captured ship (if you have also chrystalline trait), but the tech level goes to wrong tech area. You get a level in Chrystallurgy instead of Chrystallic technology. I assume this is a simple typo in somewhere, as the organic armor analysis works properly if tried.

Counter strategies

I haven’t been able to find any table with information about what to use when your opponent uses X.

Something like this, maybe with a little more details:
If opponent uses X unit type/component then use Y or Z unit type/component.

It would be really helpful if someone would make that if it does not exist, and post it in the wiki. If it does exist somewhere then please post it here.

Note: I play stock.

Misplaced planet pictures on selfcreated Maps

Submitted by scells on Sun, 2008-01-13 18:49. SE:V MODs

Hi

I created severall maps with SE5MapCreatorMC and GenesisSE5. No errors occured by creating or compiling with the Map Compiler provided by SE5. It is possible to start a game with the created maps, but all images from stellar objects (stars, planets, storms, warp points) are concentrated in one place. The stellar objects itself are on the correct position, only the images are in the wrong place.

I am using SEV 1.66 and no mods at the moment.

Every help is welcome

Scells

Ps.: The randomly generated maps from SEV work perfectly, only the manually generated by the Map Compiler ma
