Game becoming too cult like?

What do you guys think?

The only reason I herd about this game was cause it was on steam and I wanted a space game...I think Steam really helped them out cause I dont see this game anywhere and unless you were a Big fan of it from before you would never know its there...its also very complex and has a TON of features, not sayn its bad, but when a game gets very involved like this its very hard to expand your fan base...

I posted something about it in the "wish list" and it went like this

"Ok I really do hope this thread is maybe looked at for when they make another game cause there are a LOT of good ideas here

How to reduce frame rate?

When I am playing SEV, the FPS (frame rate) is 86 and CPU load is 100% when I am in the main menu.

I want to reduce the frame rate, as I don't need such a high rate. The big advantage for me would be to reduce the CPU load, too. The current setting wastes energy and heats up my PC for nothing, as I don't need 86 FPS for a turn based game!

There is already a thread that discussed my problem (http://www.spaceempires5.com/en-US/node/3604), but unfortunately no solution was posted, as the discussion drifted to 'A single turn takes too long', which has nothing to do with the FPS.

DevnullMod 1.66.0

Game Mods
An update to DevnullMod for Space Empires V version 1.66. There are a ton of changes in this version:

1.66.1 will hopefully have a modified set of AI scripts to deal with all the changes. For now, I'm including the AI from Balance Mod 1.11 until I get a chance to delve into the arcane mysteries of the AI scripts and modify them for DevnullMod. The included AI is good, though it won't take advantage of any of the changed tech or components and may have some problems for this mod. If you give the AI a high difficulty and a high bonus, though, it may still provide some challenge in a single-player game. 1.66.0 of DevnullMod is definitely an interim release, however, that is mainly intended for PBM multi-player testing.

How to roll back the latest patch?

Hi SE5 fans,

I've tried to play the game on and off and its starting to be a bit more fun with the bug fixes and BM 1.12 really helps.

However after the latest patch 1.66, I've run into the trouble that every few turns (about 50 turns in to the game) the game will stop while waiting for a player to make their first move (green bar not showing). The game itself does not seem to crash as tabing out and in still works fine, it just does nothing.

This never occured with the old patch with BM 1.12.
