Are there still issues with GeForce 8 cards?

Just considering a video card upgrade (not like I really need one, but if I wind up receiving cash as a Christmas present from several people, I honestly don't know what else to do with it Sticking out tongue) and I was looking at some of the GeForce 8 video cards, specifically the 8600GTS. I was just wondering if there were still any issues with SE5 running on GeForce 8 cards, or have those been resolved? I currently have a GeForce 7300GS, and haven't had much problem with SE5 (just an occasional flicker, which seems to have been fixed in patch 1.58 or 1.63), but before I go upgrading I want to make sure any

Version 1.08 - Released

Version Notes: This release concentrated on making the AI more aggressive, fight better, and handle units better. In addition Corellon's scripts took over the Sergetti, Ukratal, Abbidon, Amon'krie, and the Norak. Finally I attempted to speed up the scripts and they should now be about 20% faster.

Alliance problems

I've been testing alliances in a simultaneous game with three human controlled empires and have found several problems in the first few turns.

First, alliance proposals are not carried over to the next turn, whether the pass or not, so only the proposing empire can vote on the proposal and it never gets implemented.

Second, the empires that formed the alliance are not visible to the third empire. Neither is the alliance.

Third, a treaty that was confirmed between the third empire and one of the first two empires on the same turn as the alliance stayed active.

I was able to repeat all of the above problems in subsequent games.

Planet creation problem (V1.33)

Hi all,

still running V1.33 (german) i have a little problem with creating planets.
I've build a ship with a level 5 matter-gravitation-sphere, moved it onto an asteroid sector, and enabled the "build planet" command from the "stellar manipulation menu".
The asteroids start to move, more asteroids being dragged in. After that, my ship is damaged (matter gravitation sphere is destroyed), the asteroids are gone, but there is NO PLANET. Tried with two ships on two asteroid belts (medium and large), same effect.

Am i doing something wrong or is this a 1.33 bug?
