Depleated Planets show 1k Minerals and radioactives.

Submitted by droigellack on Fri, 2007-11-16 04:41.

When playing with finite rescources. Using monolith facilities. When the planets run out of organics you recieve the log entry and the planet report shows 0 organics on that planet. But when the planet runs out of Minerals or Radioactives no log entry is generated and the planet report always says 1K remaining. Previous versions did not have this problem. Not sure about 1.58 though.

With out the log entry you don't know when your monoliths have out lived their usefulness and are ready to be scraped. The only way to know that a planet is actualy empty is the colony screen where you can check current production.

Construction item lists delete/replace

Submitted by droigellack on Fri, 2007-11-16 05:03.

Construction item lists can't be deleted or replaced.

(BTW if you try to replace one there is no indication that if failed. everything seems fine until you use that list to fill a queue, only to find that it is the old list you tried to replace. Very annoying!)

With out being able to delete or replace lists you have to keep making them with a new name but after you have 20 diffrent versions the lists become harder to deal w/ than just manualy selecting costruction projects each time.

My work around is to start the name w/ a number (ex. 999 Mining). Start with a high number and decrement it each time you revise that list, that way the newest version is nearest the top of the list.

Supply Transfer Bug.

Submitted by Grimlock on Fri, 2007-11-16 08:10. Space Empires V General

Hi All,

I'm trying to transfer supplies to a stranded ship in space, and when i transfer supplies to it, the supplies from the supply ship go down, but the stranded ships supplies don't go up.

I did this previously with a fighter group and there was no problems.

Also, when this ship was in a fleet, it would only move 1 space as it had no supply (thus not using the supply of the fleet.

here are before and after pictures.. (actually there isn't as i don't know how to post em !)

Is this a valid bug or not?
Cheers.

AI: how do I make...

Submitted by seeker on Fri, 2007-11-16 11:05. Space Empires V General

How do I make the AI from v 1.63 hard again. I don't want to download a mod. I just want point to point what I do.. no, change in the AI, 1)what files I change? 2) where I change it? and 3) what I change it in to?

I AI doesn't built a fleet of ship to attack me. I can declare war on all of the ai(normal for me is 14) and theres not one ship coming after me.

Drill Down Log Report?

Submitted by inigma on Fri, 2007-11-16 18:21. Space Empires V General

I was thinking, the SEV log is a mess. Anyone agree?

The font is terrible, and the white on grey text runs together making it difficult to read. Furthermore, although it probably orders events in the time they occurred, isn't there a better way to organize the log display so as to make it readable, and grouping several different reporting features together?

I was thinking, if we can edit custom layouts for the report screens, why not be able to edit a custom layout for the event log? At least grouping like items together in a drill-down format would be preferable to the current mess that shows up with its limited clutter-reducing categories that do nothing to help with the presentation of information except shorten the list.

Unit scripting ?

Submitted by crimson on Fri, 2007-11-16 21:19. SE:V MODs

Hi, I got a few questions about unit that I can't test because I'm at work and wanted to see if any one could answer them.

1. Can U found out if a specific unit was in combat the last turn?

2. Can U found the location of a specific unit the last turn even if it was in the cargo of a ship?

3. Can U replace a comp. or change any properties of a comp. in a unit by using a script event?

Thanks in advance for any answers you guys have...

Weapon Platforms in Ground Combat

Submitted by HeberMagalhaes on Fri, 2007-11-16 22:34. Space Empires V General

Is it possible for Weapon platforms' ship sized weapons to fire in ground combat? I know Kwok managed to get WP point defense to target troops. How about other weapons?
