Need advice about AI modsSubmitted by masterdorn on Thu, 2007-11-01 01:27. Space Empires V GeneralI bought and played Space empires 5, and think that the AI players arent really difficult to beat. Are there any good AI mods outthere? Can you give me some advice which mods are good for balancing and overall fun factor? I bought SE5 because i am going to China to work there in Commissioning of a Plant, to have fun, but i dont have internet connection over there... (its some stinky and ugly village i will be living for the next 6-8 months) The games that i will take with me are MOO2, Elite Frontier, maybe X2 if my notebook is fast enough, you know, some space games that will keep me busy when iam done with sight seeing. » read more | 4 comments |

Space Empires V MultiplayerHi I am currently having problems starting games with my version of SEV 1.58 with or without the BM 1.11. At first I thought it must be my copy of SEV so I reinstalled it. But this did not fix the problem. We emailed MM and he seems to be working on the problem but I have seen that other have started game with 1.58 so I've been doing more messing around...to see what the problem might be. I get the following message when I load empires into my games that do not come from my copy of SEV » read more | 4 comments |
1.58 questionSubmitted by Tilarium on Thu, 2007-11-01 16:00. Space Empires V GeneralI may be remembering wrong but I could have sworn I read that 1.58 was going to include a way to set which system an empire starts in. If I do remember that right was it removed or am I just stupid and not able to figure out how to do it? |

Custimized Orders for Ships?Submitted by Isopsyco on Thu, 2007-11-01 17:56. SE:V MODsIs there a way to inject or modify existing orders from the drop down menu, say from a ship? In particular, I want to edit/modify the Open Warp point order. How and where are those orders executed? I'm assuming inside the game engine and not truly modable. I've looked all over the place and haven't seen where one can even change the name of it (I've done settings and constants .txt files and it still didn't change the name of the order in game). I think it is possible because the auto complete function in the ship creation screen is executed using that button interface and the execution script is written in the CSF files. |
Can a planet be coded to restis the effect of a black hole ?Submitted by Ophanim on Thu, 2007-11-01 21:36. SE:V MODsThat may've sounded like a stupid question but hear me out. I want to try and create a faction like the forces of chaos in Warhammer 40K. Anarchistic raiders stricking out of the "Eye of Terror". So as I asked... is it at all possible to code in a planet or other celestial body that can exist *statically* in a black hole system? And as a side note, using a bit of creativity, can have "get_empire_tech_..." and the right scope to mean that they have whatever the tech leader in a given field has? (recial and unique tech asside) |
Invisible Warp Points/Variable SensorsSubmitted by Atomizer4 on Thu, 2007-11-01 21:42. Space Empires V FAQsIs it possible to have warp points that are only visible to certain sensor levels? Also, can a sensor have a variable scanning level at range? Example: sensor has level 10 scanning out to range 5, then level 9 scanning out to range 10. |
